Our focus is on reducing our carbon footprint, increasing energy efficiency and minimising waste. By adopting environmentally friendly practices, we are helping to create a greener tomorrow.
Emission reduction targets
Ramirent Finland Oy is committed to reducing its environmental impact and contributing to a lower-emission future. We aim to reduce our Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 50% and Scope 3 emissions by 30% by 2030 (compared to 2019 levels).
Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi)
Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) validated Ramirent’s climate targets in 2023. An independent body annually assesses the quality of Ramirent’s emissions reporting and progress towards achieving the targets. Ramirent’s emissions are reported according to the GHG Protocol and cover Scopes 1, 2, and 3.
Scope 1, 2 and 3
The most widely used international standard for measuring and reporting greenhouse gas emissions is the GHG Protocol (Greenhouse Gas Protocol). In this protocol, emissions are divided into three categories: Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3.
Scope 1 includes all direct greenhouse gas emissions that result from a company’s own operations.
Scope 2 includes greenhouse gas emissions resulting from the production of energy purchased and used by the company.
Scope 3 encompasses all other indirect greenhouse gas emissions related to a company’s activities but originating from sources not owned or controlled by the company. These emission sources include, for example, emissions from the upstream production of goods and services, as well as emissions from travel and transportation. Scope 3 emissions are divided into fifteen different categories.
#BuildingLife
We published our own carbon neutrality roadmap as part of the European Green Building Councils’ #BuildingLife project, which aims to accelerate emission reductions at both the national and EU levels.
Our daily activities
Energy saving
We are reducing our own energy consumption and our goal is that all the energy we use is renewable.
Own transport
We optimise logistics and use more environmentally friendly transport options. Our modern logistics system reduces the number of kilometres driven, which in turn reduces emissions.
Waste
We reduce the amount of waste. The current waste recovery rate is 100% and recycling rate 70%. We report monthly on the costs of waste management and hazardous waste services, waste volumes, recycling and recovery rates by destination or target group.
